A political activist and previous Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has approached the President, General Muhammadu Buhari to step down. He urged the President to emulate the Senior Pastor of the Common Wealth of Zion Assembly, (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, who has stepped down from his position following claims of sexual assault against him.
Frank in a statement in Abuja noted that since Buhari has been accused of rigging himself into office during the last presidential elections, the right thing would be for him to step down until the petition filed against him by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is decided by the judiciary:in this case, the Tribunal and the Supreme Court.
“What General Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) did to Nigeria during the last general elections is a grievous rape on our democracy and as such, necessity demands that he steps down just as like Pastor Fatoyinbo has done, pending on the final result and determination in the ongoing appeal by the Justices of the presidential elections Tribunal and the Supreme Court.
“As a man who professes to have honesty and integrity, it is just expected that you (General Buhari) steps aside so the legal arm of government can carry out its responsibility without dread, favor or biasness that could originate from the continuous obstruction in the official exercises of the Justices by agents of the executive arm.
“As at today, the tribunal members being scared, totally annoyed, intimidated, threatened, extorted, pressured, bribed or more all, secretively undermined by the official so as to falsely obtain a positive judgment,” Frank expressed.
He noticed that Buhari’s show inadequacy, poor administration and his audacious apparatus of the last presidential race has brought untold agony and hardship upon Nigerians.
He included: “Your administration raped Nigerians by denying them the genuine result of their vote which was to guarantee that a man who can help further the battle against uncertainty, handle joblessness, relieve destitution and lift the economy in the individual of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was chosen.”
The political activist likewise approached all Nigerians particularly individuals from thecivil society, labour unions and celebrities that spearheaded the protest at COZA last Sunday to apply the same pressure on the present illegitimate government so as to stop their present illegalities which is tantamount to continuous rape on the nation’s democracy, pending the outcome of the presidential election petition tribunal and the Supreme Court.
Frank said: “Following the colossal rape of the nation’s democracy and rule of law by General Buhari and his gang through the wholesale rigging of the last general elections, kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry and other deadly security malady have become a daily affair across the country.
“Added to this evil is the ongoing forceful establishment of Ruga Settlements all over Nigeria which will lead to further rape, killings and maiming of innocent citizens and the systematic annexation of their ancestral lands by his foreign collaborators and others known as fulani herdsmen.”
He called on well-meaning Nigerians to urgently rise and take a decisive stand against the ongoing pillaging and stripping of their common patrimony and the mortgaging of the future well being of their children’s children by General Buhari and his gang, by urging him to step down.
“Those who led protests against the COZA pastor that forced him to step down must also prevail on General Buhari to step down pending the outcome of the ongoing judicial process against his election because the allegations against Pastor Fatoyinbo and General Buhari are the same,” Frank declared.
